Abstract
(Second of Three Parts)Mouse Erythroleukemia CellsOur emphasis on the biochemical aspects of globin-gene expression and mRNA production parallels the focus of much experimental work, but should not obscure the fact that erythroid maturation represents a co-ordinated expression of many structural genes. The mechanisms of co-ordinated gene regulation in micro-organisms have been experimentally accessible because mutant strains are available for analysis under defined growth conditions.
