Preliminary expts. are reported showing the ability to raise fruits in vitro from flowers which have been separated from the plant. Tomato flowers cut off from the plant, sterilized and planted in flasks of various media failed to grow until sterile juice from either green or red tomatoes was added. The course of growth and character of the developed fruit are described.
