Abstract
SUMMARY: The authors report the subjective and objective changes accompanying the spike‐and‐wave discharges triggered in the EEG of 4 patients by the viewing of line patterns. They describe the results of tests of the patients' responsiveness and motor output during the EEG discharges, the modifications of visual and auditory evoked potentials in the course of these paroxysms and the effects of various attempts to mitigate the epileptogenic effects of line stimuli in their patients.RÉSUMÉ: Les auteurs décrivent les manifestations subjectives et objectives qui accompagnent les décharges de pointe‐ondes déclenchées dans l'EEG de 4 malades par 1'observation d'images représentées par des dessins rayés. lis analysent les résultats de tests des réponses motrices et des mouvements répétés spontanés des malades pendant les décharges EEG, les modifications des potentiels évoqués visuels et auditifs qui accompagent ces paroxysmes et les résultats de plusieurs tentatives de supprimer ou d'atténuer les effets épileptogénes de l'observation de rayures chez leur malades.
