Abstract
We study the gravitational radiation emitted by a laser pulse or other pulse of light reflected from a mirror. The angular distribution and magnitude of radiated gravitational energy are obtained in a simple manner. Convenient order-of-magnitude relations for the power output of such high-velocity sources are obtained, and the feasibility of detecting laboratory-generated gravitational radiation is discussed. Keywords
