Statistical model analysis for the deexcitation ofTe117atE*=71 and 107MeV in the reactionsN14+Rh103andAr40+Se77

Abstract
A detailed statistical model analysis is presented for the deexcitation of the compound nucleus Te117 at excitation energies of 71 and 107 MeV being formed at both energies with large angular momenta by the reactions N14 + Rh103 and Ar40 + Se77. The competition of charged particle (p,α), neutron, and γ emission is explicitly considered in the calculations for each decay step throughout the whole evaporation cascades. By this method the energy spectra of protons and α particles in the four reactions can be well reproduced with respect to their form, average kinetic energies, and absolute cross sections with a consistent set of the statistical model parameters.
