Abstract
The shape of the isobaric analog resonance near 2.340 MeV in the reaction V51(p,n)Cr51 has been determined with fine resolution (∼1 keV) utilizing a 4π geometry neutron counter. It is shown that a negative value for the level-shift parameter Δ of the isobaric-analog-resonance theory is required to fit the data. The spectroscopic factor for the analog state at 12.8 MeV corresponding to this resonance is estimated to be 0.75 ± 0.15.
