Abstract
The superiority of estrogen-androgen mixtures is based on the fact that the menopause syndrome may be of long duration. Therefore long range therapy should be based on factors of efficiency, safety, and economy. It should avoid undue stimulation of breast and uterus and withdrawal bleeding. These specifications are best provided by single buccal or oral tablets combining estrogens and testosterone in minimal dosage. Such mixtures have provided maximum psychosomatic relief without any significant complications to the majority of patients treated in this clinic in the past 8 yrs.
