Abstract
The records of antirabies treatment given under the auspices of the Pasteur Institute of Southern India, Coonoor, to 412,800 persons between 1907 and 1951 are analysed. The results of treatment with dried-cord, Högyes, and 1%, 2%, and 5% Semple vaccines are assessed, taking into consideration the various factors in their preparation. An account is given of an enquiry which has been in progress since 1946 into comparative mortality among untreated bitten persons and those treated with 5% Semple vaccine. Keywords
