Abstract
Shell model calculations were performed in a study of the structure of the even parity states of 92Mo, 93Tc and 94Ru. The calculations were carried out with a 'realistic' interaction and the usual second order perturbation corrections were taken into account for the construction of the appropriate 'effective' interaction. It was found that in cases where the model space is limited to the Og92/, 1p1/2 and 1p3/2 orbitals this produced spectra in good agreement with experiment. However, there are some ambiguities in the evaluation of the 'effective' interaction which arouse serious questions about the reliability of the results. An enlarged calculation which is characterized by a shell model basis constructed by the excitation of two Of-1p protons to the Og9/2 orbital limits the uncertainties of the truncated calculations. The results give a satisfactory account of the structure of the low-lying energy levels. Keywords
