Abstract
An anatomical study of specimens from 2 Illinois coal-ball localities indicates the occurrence of at least 2 new spp. of seeds Taxospermum undulatum, an ovoid seed with only slight lateral flattening, is included in the Cardiocarpales; CORCONOSTOMA quamadrivasatum has structural characteristics which relate it to the seed genera Conostoma and Lagenostoma in the Lagenostomales. In addition, one specimen furnishes a basis for the descr. of the longitudinal aspect of Conostoma quadratum, a seed which was originally descr. only from transverse sections. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
