Abstract
• Anatomical variations in the biliary tract are reported with sufficient frequency to be of concern to the operating surgeon. They are often not identified prior to surgery. Drainage of both intrahepatic ducts into the gallbladder was identified in a case as the gallbladder was removed. The common bile duct proximal to the cystic duct was atretic. The problem was treated by a choledochoduodenostomy at the confluence of the hepatic ducts in the gallbladder bed. (Arch Surg 115:972-974, 1980)Keywords
