Abstract
The concept of minimal coupling, which leads to the Schrödinger equation of a particle in an external electromagnetic field, is reformulated within the theory of complex line bundles. The possible generalizations are discussed, and the case of the magnetic monopole is investigated with the help of the new formalism.Keywords
