Abstract
A new species of Myxosporidia (Sporozoa) is described. This parasite occurs in the corium below the scales of the golden shiner, Notemigonus crysoleucas (Mit-chill) (Cyprinidae). The name Myxobolus notemlgoni sp. n. is suggested and a description of the organism is presented. The parasite is of commercial importance since it detracts from the appearance and market value of its host, an important bait fish. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
