Abstract
The structure of large clusters in neutron irradiated iridium as seen by field-ion microscope examination is described. Three distinct types of cluster were found. The first containing up to about 200 single vacancies appeared in a compact nearly spherical form while larger clusters collapsed to give dislocation loops. The third type consisted of a dispersion of single vacancies in a small volume such that about 30–40% of the lattice sites in this volume were unoccupied. Keywords
