Abstract
Yosemite toad inhabits high altitudes and is abundant around 10,000 ft. elevation, becoming increasingly scarce at 10,700-10,800 where only one individual was found at each of these altitudes, Possibly correlated with low night temps, at high altitudes is conspicuous diurnality of sp. as constrasted with B. boreas halophilus. Normal temps. of adult toad range at or slightly above 26[degree] C while larvae swarm into water with temps. as high as 33[degree]C. At night larvae retreat to deeper water and adults into holes in ground. Enemies of sp. include Sierra yellow legged frog, Rana boylei sierrae, adults of which were observed eating toad larvae and nymphs of dragon-flies.This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
