Abstract
Digital simulation results concerning aerosol particle transport and deposition in a recirculation region are presented. It is assumed that the particles are shed from sources near the back face of a block in a turbulent duct flow. The results show that a large number of particles may be captured by the block and the upper wall of the channel due to impaction and interception. The capture efficiencies increase as the source distance from the wall decreases. The gravitational effects on the particle deposition rate are also studied. Keywords
