Abstract
During a 4 yr period, 141 patients received 171 renal allograft transplants. In 56 patients, 69 surgical complications developed: 12 lymphoceles, 11 abscesses, 12 hematomas, 9 urinomas, 4 ureteropelvic junction obstructions and 21 arterial complications. In a retrospective analysis the sensitivity of sonography, excretory urography and radionuclide imaging were compared in diagnosing pelvic and perinephric fluid collections, and sonography proved superior to the other 2 methods. Correlation of clinical symptomatology, the time presentation of each complication and the diagnostic yield of imaging techniques provided data for an algorithmic radiologic approach to renal transplant complications. This publication has 22 references indexed in Scilit:
