Acute Megakaryocyte Myelofibrosis: Case Report of an Unusual Myeloproliferative Syndrome

Abstract
A case of the accelerated variety of myelofibrosis with a peripheral blood picture resembling chronic myelogenous leukemia, a predominantly megakaryocytic overgrowth in the marrow, and multiple megakaryocytic tumor nodules is presented. This appears to be an extremely rare hematologic disease, but one which should be included in the differential diagnosis of any rapidly progressive, treatment-resistant myeloproliferative disorder.
