Abstract
The potentially nephrotoxic antibiotics (kanamycin, polymyxin-B and colistin) were used in the therapy of gram-negative infections in 12 uremic patients. In 7, renal function returned to normal after acute renal failure; in 1, progressive necrotizing papillitis was arrested; and in 3, the renal functional impairment remained stationary. The patient who died had inexorable renal failures despite cure of infection. Keywords
