Abstract
Assuming a Poisson model, formulas are derived for the mean number of observations required to reach a decision when sampling is semi-curtailed. It is shown how the result can be obtained from the corresponding binomial solution with the Poisson approximation and from a direct argument using a waiting time distribution. Some numerical results are considered. Keywords
