Abstract
When a beam of charged particles passes through a collimating aperture, the transmitted beam contains some particles which have traversed some of the material of the diaphragm. The corrections to the effective size of the aperture are estimated. They are found to be very small for protons of energies of the order of 20 Mev but appreciable at higher energies. Keywords
