Abstract
In lithium thallium tartrate monohydrate it has been demonstrated that at temperatures close to the ferroelectric transition near 10 °K, the elastic compliance may be controlled by an electric field applied in the [100] direction. The compliance changes by a factor of 25 for fields of order 10 kV/cm.
