Endoscopic Varicocelectomy

Abstract
A simple endoscopic technique for the treatment of varicocele is described. The instrument is introduced through the umbilicus and directed toward the inguinal region. Helped by slight testicular traction, the testicular veins are identified as they emerge from the canal before being dissected and coagulated. Twelve patients were operated on, and the varicocele disappeared in nine. This is a simple technique; surgical trauma is reduced to a minimum, there are no serious complications, and the results after 1 year are comparable with those of conventional surgery.
