Abstract
The detn. of phosphocreatine in protein-free tissue extracts on the basis of the creatine found before and after mild acid hydrolysis is described. Phosphocreatine was found in spleen, kidney, liver, cardia muscle, brain and testis of rabbit, cat, guinea pig and dog. 20-40% of the creatine was present as phosphocreatine, irrespective of tissue used. Values for phosphocreatine by detn. of acid-molybdate-labile P were always greater presumably due to the presence of other labile P-compounds.Keywords
