Abstract
Bereaved parents (N = 62) interviewed five years after the death of a young child (0–12 years) appeared to be less emotionally healthy and incurred more significant life changes than the control group. Bereaved mothers indicated their distress differently from fathers. College-educated bereaved parents appeared emotionally healthler than others. Mortality was greater in bereaved than non-bereaved grandparents. Keywords
