Abstract
A type of synaptic plasticity in the brain called long-term potentiation (LTP) is thought to form the molecular basis of learning and memory. In a Perspective, Manabe discusses new findings (Kovalchuk et al.) showing brain-derived neurotropic factor modulates LTP by binding to TrkB receptors on the postsynaptic neuron. Keywords
