Abstract
The ability to destroy penicillin is a property widespread among bacteria, yeasts, and fungi, with aerobic spore-forming bacteria and certain actinomy-cetes being outstanding in this respect. Certain chemical and biol. properties of extracellular penicillinase are described together with expts. relating to its formation by bacteria. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
