The Status of the FeldsherThe feldsher holds the place in society of one who has graduated from a Technicum — a secondary vocational school — rather than an institute or university. He is in the position of the technician as compared to the physicist, or the draftsman as compared to the architect. Rut in the rural areas where the physician is not available, the feldsher's role and prestige is consequently greater.Pay scales are tailored to preserve the distinction between the "higher" and the "middle" medical graduate, but the disparity appears to be nowhere near as great as it . . .Keywords
