Abstract
A thoroughbred foal developed painful swellings of the fetlocks that consisted of exostoses above and below the joints, and excess fluid in the joint capsules. Blood samples revealed a PCV of 24%, a Hb level of 7.5g/100ml, and a serum copper level of 0.1mg/l. Treatment with calcium copper edetate resulted in clinical improvement and recovery. Keywords
