Studies in the sulphur metabolism of the dog

Abstract
Glutathione, l- and r-cystine and l- and r-cysteine were oxidized to the same degree. Chloroacetylcysteine and dichloroacetylcystine were only slightly oxidized. Acetylcysteine and glycylcysteine were more completely oxidized than chloroacetylcysteine, but less so than l- or r-cysteine. Glycylcysteine anhydride caused a marked diuresis in dogs and cats but not in rabbits.
