Abstract
In the present work, results are given on the agitation of pseudoplastic fluids by a two‐blade stirrer; the method used has been a numerical analysis. The fluids simulated follow either the Ostwald de Waele Law or the Carreau's one. The (flow) streamlines, the velocity vector, the apparent viscosity, the stresses and the power consumption are presented. The Metzner‐Otto theory is checked and a correlation is proposed for the power number. Finally, some characteristic values obtained on the blade tips are indicated. Keywords
