Abstract
The absorption of sound by pine trees was studied. Swept frequency measurements were made with small boughs in a reverberant box. Tests for branch and needles resonances were also made. The observed absorption is comparable to the expected thermoviscous absorption in the boundary layer of air that surrounds the individual needles.This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
