Abstract
The valence-band photoemission spectra of Ce, Pr and Nd systems are compared and it is found that they can consistently be explained by assuming that the 4f photoemission leads to one final state screened by a conduction electron and another one screened by the same process and an additional 5d to 4f conversion. Keywords
