Abstract
The article looks at a study which examines the relationship between modes of administrative succession at the corporate level and the organizational criterion of growth in manufacturing companies. The adaptability of an organization is noted as being more important than profit or employee morale. The growth of organizations is looked at in companies which promote presidents from within the company in contrast to those which hire from outside the organization. The expansion of boards of directors relative to a company's size is also examined. Keywords
