Feedback generated holograms

Abstract

Holograms are created in a binary, phase-only, spatial light modulator by feedback from a single detector via a computer performing iterative optimisation. The holograms reveal minor phase imperfections in the optical system and produce focused spots in the output plane with near diffraction limited performance.
