Abstract
Superconducting rf electron accelerator prototypes have been operated at Stanford University and at the University of Illinois. Many of the beam performance goals for emittance, current, energy resolution and stability have been achieved. Lower-than-expected accelerating gradients have necessitated the reevaluation of the energy objectives. Recirculation of the electron beam through the superconducting linacs will, however, increase the effective accelerating gradient. Keywords
