Abstract
ON reading the letter by Dr. Calvin P. Leeman in the April 23, 1965, issue of the Journal I was struck by the thought that few physicians would know the origin of the term neurocirculatory asthenia, — how, where and when it was first used. Since I may be the only living person who might know, it appears appropriate to record the actual facts.During the early months of American participation in World War I a small group of young American medical officers were attached to the British Medical Corps, working at the British Heart Hospital in Colchester, England.
