Abstract
Cystitis emphysematosa was diagnosed ante mortem in a white male severe diabetic amputee with a history of recurrent urinary tract infection and long-term Foley catheter drainage. Laboratory cultures before and during surgery, including histology, demonstrated invasive Candida albicans as the etiologic agent. This is the first case reported of cystitis emphysematosa caused by Candida albicans. Keywords
