Introduction

Abstract
At the annual meeting of three pediatric societies, the Society for Pediatric Research, the American Pediatric Society, and the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, a symposium was held, sponsored by all three societies, on the topic, "Does Comprehensive Care Make a Difference?" The importance of the subject and the interest generated at the meeting suggest that reporting this symposium would serve a wider audience and advance the health care of children. The moderator's introduction, the three speakers' papers, and summary of the discussion are presented for this broader audience.
