Abstract
Previous measurements of the thermal expansion of potassium iodide conflict in reporting the presence or absence of oscillatory behaviour in the temperature dependence of the linear coefficient of thermal expansion in the approximate temperature range 100-300 K. New thermal expansion measurements have been undertaken in an attempt to resolve this disagreement. The observations are consistent with perfectly normal behaviour, that is, no anomalies were observed, in agreement with the earlier results of Yates and Panter (1962).Keywords
