Abstract
A new approach has been developed for the simultaneous confirmation of DDT-type compounds, chlordanes, heptachlor, and heptachlor epoxide. Derivatives are formed by a solid matrix derivation technique in alumina/KOH and alumina/potassium tert.-butoxide. It is compared with the previously reported solution derivation technique. The high yield and simplicity of the present procedure should be useful in routine analysis, particularly for samples with a low concentration of the parent pesticide. Keywords
