Simultaneous Determination of Carbamazepine ("Tegretol") and Other Anticonvulsants in Human Plasma by Gas—Liquid Chromatography

Abstract
A gas chromatographic method in which an on-column reaction with a methylating reagent is used has been developed that permits the simultaneous determination of plasma concentrations of carbamazepine and of some other commonly co-administered anticonvulsant drugs, including phenobarbital, diphenylhydantoin, primidone, and mephenytoin. As little as 0.5 µg of any of these drugs can be determined per milliliter of plasma.
