Abstract
In experiments on dogs, serotonin and histamine do not show any interaction.histamine and serotonin increase the sensitivity of the bronchial system for bronchoconstrictive reactions. The stronger bronchoconstriction, which could be measured following acetylcholine inhalation after the increased sensitivity of the bronchial system, can be avoided by blockade of the vagus nervus. Also, clinical experience, as well as experiments from other authors, let us believe that the ‘increased sensitivity of the bronchial system’ means increased sensitivity of the sensitive receptors in the bronchial wall. The reflex path for the constriction of the bronchial muscles issues from the vagus nervus
