Abstract
Width and shift of five prominent neutral neon spectral lines have been measured using a wall-stabilized arc. Under the prevailing plasma conditions the broadening by neutral disturbers has to be taken into account besides the Stark effect. This is achieved by application of a least-squares fitting routine, which allows the separation of the two broadening effects. The data are compared to theoretical predictions and other measurements. © 1996 The American Physical Society.
