Relation betweenπ- andμ-Meson Production Spectra in the Atmosphere

A method of obtaining the parent $\pi$-meson spectrum from the $\mu$-meson spectrum is presented and the relation of the two spectra is discussed. It is concluded that the $\mu$-meson spectrum must be rather smooth even if the parent spectrum is not.
