Abstract
The ligands X(CH2CH2CO2H)2(X = O, S, Se, and Te), Se(CH2CO2H)2, X[CH(Me)CO2H]2(X = S or Se), and HO2CCH2SCH2CH2CO2H have been synthesised and the formation constants of their complexes with H+, Ag+, and a number of bivalent metal ions measured potentiometrically at 25 °C and I= 0.10M(K[NO3]). With Ag+ the stability order is Te > Se > S O.Keywords
