Abstract
An uncommon complication of pregnancy, diabetes insipidus (DI), is described. Polydipsia and copious, dilute urine despite rising serum osmolality are cardinal features of the disorder. The two principal subtypes of DI are presented, with emphasis on the vasopressin-sensitive variant. Effective treatment strategies are outlined for both central and nephrogenic DI.Keywords
