Abstract
A drop of a saline or broth suspension from a 24- or 48-hr.-old Agar culture of Pseudomonas fluores-cens (bacteria) when added to a drop of blood from a suspect will cause a sickling of the red corpuscles within 5 mins. if the sickle cell trait is present. Within 15 mins. 70-90% of the corpuscles will be effected.
