Abstract
THIABENDAZOLE HIABENDAZOLE * (2- (4′ Thiazolyl)-benzimidazole) has been used extensively as a veterinary anthelmintic. More recently it has been employed in the treatment of various human parasitic infestations, including strongyloidiasis, ascariasis, hookworm, trichuriasis, creeping eruption, and trichinosis.1-8 Early reports on the use of this drug in enterobiasis have been encouraging.9 An 83%-93% conversion rate following a single dose of thiabendazole in emulsion form was reported by Iwata et al.10 To date, there have been no clinical reports on thiabendazole in pinworm infestations published in the American literature.
