Abstract
In a patient with chronic congestive heart failure, the administration of mercaptomerin initially and over a prolonged period invariably produced a thrombocytopenia, a prolonged clot retraction time, and a fixed drug eruption. Platelet counts returned to normal 3 days after the injection; skin lesions disappeared after 2 weeks. Other mercurial diuretics failed to induce these changes. Keywords
